Background
I was raised in Eastern North Carolina and graduated from East Carolina University. Shortly after college, I met my wife, Megan, and we spent nearly a decade living in the mountains just outside of Asheville. It was there that I began my career in finance with an online brokerage firm. While I am grateful for the foundation and experience that role provided, the environment was largely transactional and lacked the relationship focus that I value most.
In 2019, we made the decision to move to the Triad to be closer to both of our families. My wife and I are grateful for our years together and for our daughter, who brings tremendous joy and purpose to our lives. Family is central to who I am, and it shapes how I approach both life and work.
Why Financial Planning
My interest in finance was deeply influenced by the financial crisis of 2008 and 2009. As a recent college graduate, I witnessed how the downturn affected my parents, even as they worked hard to shield my siblings and me from the full impact. Watching them navigate uncertainty reinforced the importance of thoughtful planning and preparation for the unexpected.
That experience continues to guide my work today. The most meaningful part of my role is sitting across from clients, listening to their goals and concerns, and building a plan that brings clarity and confidence to their future. Financial planning is more than numbers and markets. It is about helping people feel secure and prepared, no matter what lies ahead.
Why Allegacy
When we relocated to the Triad, I consistently heard positive comments about Allegacy from neighbors and friends. After joining the organization, I quickly understood why. Allegacy has a strong member-focused culture and a genuine commitment to doing what is right.
I am proud to be part of a team that prioritizes relationships and long term impact. In a profession built on trust, I approach every conversation with the mindset of caring for members the same way I would care for my own family. That responsibility is one I take seriously, and it is what makes serving our members so rewarding.
