As a member-owned credit union, every dollar we earn is reinvested in North Carolina — supporting local causes, strengthening communities, and delivering impact where it matters most

The Allegacy Foundation

Giving back is part of who we are

Through the Allegacy Foundation—our donor-advised fund with the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation—we support local nonprofit organizations, address critical needs across our communities, and help students take the next step through higher education.

Together with our members, teammates, and community partners, we focus our giving where it can make a meaningful difference—today and for generations to come. Whether you’re looking to donate or are a nonprofit seeking funding consideration, we’re grateful to walk alongside you in strengthening the communities we call home.

Our focus areas:

  • Health: Promoting early detection, prevention, and healthier futures
  • Education: Empowering teachers, students, and lifelong learning
  • Community-Specific Needs: Supporting solutions to evolving local needs

Allegacy Scholarships: creating opportunities in education

Education can open doors—not just for individuals, but for families and communities across North Carolina. The Allegacy Scholarship Program is here to help students take that next step with confidence, offering financial support that turns hard work and ambition into real opportunity.

In partnership with the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation, Allegacy awards scholarships of up to $10,000 per year to qualifying students who are pursuing higher education and working toward meaningful goals.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a primary Allegacy member with an individual savings account
  • Have a minimum non-weighted GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Be a full-time college student or a high school senior accepted to an accredited post-secondary institution

Preference is given to students who:

  • Are pursuing degrees in healthcare or education
  • Are first-generation college students
  • Demonstrate financial need

Applications open October 1 and close February 1. Scholarship recipients are notified in early May.

Our community initiatives: putting care into action

Community is more than where we work—it’s who we’re committed to. From long-standing partnerships to hands-on service, our involvement reflects what matters most to us: showing up, listening, and doing the work that helps our neighbors thrive.
